we headed home today.  our flight was later and the kids fell asleep immediately when we got in the car.  they were beat!

we went putt putt golfing and the course was so pretty.  there were tons of palm trees and ornamental grasses.  I took this picture when it was almost dark.  when shooting people, I tend to not like to raise my iso too much because I don't like the grain (so instead I shoot in auto to get the flash...yikes I know! but I rather the flash effects than grain usually). but this time I thought i'd play around with my iso.  I think this picture looks pretty clear despite the dark conditions and high iso.  I need to do this more when shooting people too.

we visited the grand canyon today. nothing seems to scare this little one! (don't worry, there's another cliff not too far below her, it just doesn't look like it from this angle!)  we kept both of the kids close the entire time we were there!

friday was the beginning of my spring break.  my friend Jennifer and I went to get pedicures and to wine and canvas.  fun night for sure!

when the third and fourth grade teachers performed our dance, we had matching outfits, mustaches and all.  greyson found my and wanted to put it on.  he thought it felt funny and wouldn't crack a smile.

our school always has a talent show for the third and fourth graders during music in our schools month.  the third and fourth grade teachers put together a dance to the song whip it.  i had to practice a lot! :) here are my cheat sheet notes!

john and i had our second date night tonight.  we went bowling with our sunday school class.  i was enjoying the time we had out with our friends that it didn't even occur to me to take a picture of the score board as proof that i beat john bowling!! darn! we went to walmart afterwards to buy greyson's birthday bike and we also picked up these plates, napkins, and cups from the clearance isle.  they did not ring up on clearance (of course i didn't notice until we got home) and we spent $30 all together on paper products that are going to be thrown away.  definitely going back! lesson learned...pay attention as the cashier rings things up!

this is greyson's preschool class.  we had mother's night.  the kids sang songs, we went on a bear hunt, made a craft, and ate some snacks.  it was a nice evening just me and my bubba.

john and i went on a date on a monday...what? i know, it's unheard of.  we had a coupon for 30% off so we went shopping and got the kids and us some spring/summer clothes for our trip to arizona.  we also went to haci and devoured chips and margaritas.  i branched out and got something different, their signature burrito.  won't be doing that again.  

yes, this is a picture of me and greyson.  i tried to get one of me and john on our date but i couldn't get my camera to flash. i learned why later...new phones stink sometimes!

we celebrated my grandma's 80th birthday.  this was the first time in nine years that all seven of her children were together.  it was a good night catching up with family that we rarely see.

i wasn't in a very good mood on friday night because i thought we weren't going to be able to go on a spring break trip after i had spent hours researching and planning.  so here's a picture of me pouting. yes, i still do it on occasion. thankfully it was short lived because we got it all worked out and are heading to arizona in two weeks!!

i can be in the worst mood and walk into this store and become absolutely giddy.  i was lucky enough to be able to go after stamp club since i had to go by myself.  i was able to get all the kids' easter basket stuff purchased and lots of other goodies.

we had our first snow day and we played and played and played.  kenna wore her tutu and greyson's safety glasses most of the day.  i just love her and the fun we had!

i take greyson to swim lessons every tuesday night.  he was so tired he conked out on the way. i'm pretty sure he fell asleep mid-sentence.

kenna doll fell alseep on john's shoulder.  that never happens. he was even able to put her in bed without her waking up.  that never happens either.  she slept for two hours and still went to bed on time.  that never happens.  i was afriad she was coming down with something but thankfully she didn't.

this sign has been in the works for several months and i finally got it finished.  yay! it's going to go on my wall by pictures of our family.  i love it...even though the letters are crooked and it's off centered.  somethings you just have to let it go! :)

we babysat a few kids on saturday so we painted with corn syrup and food coloring.  it was a lot of fun and the paint dries with a shine.  the kids loved it.

i'm a teacher so i've conducted parent teacher conferences 100's of times.  however, today was the first time i was on the other side of the conference and it felt a little strange.  i mean, i think my kid is pretty great, but you never know what a teacher sees.  many times it's different from what a parent sees! thankfully, we were told our son is ready for kindergarten! yeah! to celebrate him and all his hard work, we let him decide where he wanted to eat supper.  of course, he picked DQ. 

 

kenna was upset because i wouldn't let her drink my tea.  i just love it when she does this.  although, it will be stop being cute eventually!

i never thought i would enjoy having a tv in my bedroom but we recently put one in there. i must say i've  become a big fan. i also am becoming a big fan of the show parenthood. i'm watching the first season on netflix and am enjoying it.  i rarely watch tv, so this might be a little dangerous!

 

i hope to do better this week with getting out the real camera.  i've been being a little lazy and shooting at the last minute with my camera phone.  i also have been really bad about editing my pictures that i do take with the big camera.  here's to a better week!

today was the first time we had snow that was good enough to make a snowman.  john and greyson played outside for hours.  they rode the fourwheeler, shoveled the sidewalk, and built the snowman.  they were so proud.

i was in bed when i realized i hadn't taken a picture for the day so i grabbed my camera phone of the night stand.  it was completely dark so it lit up before taking the picture and my husband was mid laugh, mid, "what are you doing?" funny!

i heard greyson working in the office.  he was having a great time pretending to call customers just like his daddy.  i just stood at the door and watched him for a while.  he sure picks up on a lot.

 greyson is taking swim lessons.  he started in january and has them through the end of may.  it's quite the trek to get there from our little town in the middle of nowhere, but it's important that he learns how to swim since we have a pond.  he loves going (besides the drive) and has learned so much already.  can't wait to see what he's capable of in may!

i am on a quest to find curtains for my brother.  since i had the day off i was texting him things i found and sending him pictures. nothing too exciting to share unfortunately.
