my husband is a huge ND fan and we were blessed to have season tickets this year, so i knew i had to document ND's big game tonight. we had a few friends over and they brought their projector so we watched the game on the big screen. the outcome was disappointing, but it's still awesome that they made it to the national championship game.  better luck next year!

g got to stay up a little late tonight because he put away his clothes with a good attitude! this isn't always the case, so when he does, i like to make a big deal about it. ;) he was watching the lorax. his eyes say-tired!

well today was a busy day shopping at ikea (squeal) and i just got around to picking up my camera.  i decided to play with depth of field (which i love). i choose this one as my favorite because mary and Jesus are also "framed" between joseph and one of the shepherds.

i love christmas and the decorations that go with it.  i keep my tree up for quite awhile after christmas.  today i thought i'd take some time to play around with bokeh.  little did i know, i'd find all the dust on the ornaments.  yikes! that almost makes me want to take it down! ;)

well today is day three and i must admit it was harder to pick up my camera today.  we didn't do anything special and nothing jumped out at me that said, "photograph me".  while making dinner, i grabbed my son and asked him to lay on our wood floor so i could get some shots in.  he complied without much fuss. :)

today i was taking pictures of my darling daughter kenna.  she was playing in her room and i was just observing, trying to stay out of her way.  all of a sudden, she went and picked up her bunny and started loving on it. i got some great shots of her real smile.

i've been tossing around the idea of doing a project 365 for years now but have never committed to it. i've decided to take the challenge in 2013 but i'm making this as low pressure as possible. i know there will be days that i miss and i'm okay with that (hopefully not many)! i'm hoping this will help me to learn the ins and outs of my new camera and help me focus on the every day moments with my family and friends. life is short and i don't want to remember it just for the big things, but the every day things.

 

so here is my first image of the year! today we played outside in the snow and enjoyed some hot chocolate when we came in.  love my boy!
